East Tennessee State University’s Tri-Cities Financial Aid Night returns Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 5-8 p.m. in the ballroom on the third floor of the D.P. Culp Student Center on ETSU’s main campus. This event is free and open to the public.

Current ETSU students and area high school seniors are invited to attend and receive assistance with filing the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is essential to receiving aid for college. Staff in the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will be on hand to help answer questions and complete the application one-on-one.

"We know the FAFSA can feel overwhelming, especially for first-time applicants and families navigating the college financial aid process for the first time," said Catherine Morgan, director of the ETSU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. "Our office is happy to be able to provide this service to the community and help make the process easier, walking students and families through every step. No question is too small, and we want everyone to feel confident about completing their FAFSA, the best tool to unlock federal financial aid and other funding opportunities."

Those who want to receive assistance filing the FAFSA should create an FSA ID prior to the event. Creating an FSA ID at studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch (one for the student and parent) will make your time at Tri-Cities Financial Aid Night more efficient.

Nearly half of ETSU students graduate with no student loan debt, and about 85% receive some form of financial aid. The university consistently ranks among the top 10% of colleges nationwide for students graduating with the least debt.

Earlier this fall, ETSU enrolled 2,284 first-year students, the largest incoming class in university history. The milestone underscores the growing demand for an ETSU education and reflects the university’s commitment to balancing academic quality with affordability.
