East Tennessee State University, ETSU Health and ETSU Athletics are teaming up with Kingsport Parks and Recreation to bring family-friendly activities to one of Fun Fest’s block parties this Wednesday.

Part of the dozens of block parties that take place during Kingsport’s annual Fun Fest, the event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, on the football field at the Lynn View Community Center, located at 257 Walker St. in Kingsport. The event is free and open to the public.

The block party will feature inflatables, activities and free food provided by local churches, alongside several new additions from ETSU.

ETSU’s iconic mascot, Bucky, will be on site, handing out limited-edition Fun Fest-themed Running Bucky stickers. Guests can also snap a photo at a selfie station against a festive backdrop.

ETSU Health will host a “Teddy Bear Clinic,” where children can bring their own stuffed animal – or use one provided – and take them for a "checkup" across multiple stations to examine the stuffed animal's vital signs, dental health, nutrition, bone health and more.

The team will also offer face painting, giveaways and opportunities to meet health care providers.

ETSU Athletics is showing out with games like cornhole, giveaways including T-shirts and football posters, and appearances by ETSU football players who will sign posters and interact with families.
