FAFSA – check. Scholarships – check. Award offer – check.

But what now?

You’ve worked hard to find money to pay for college, so ensure you complete these steps before East Tennessee State University’s fee payment due date on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 6 a.m. to secure your fall class schedule.

Financial Aid Access

  • Federal: Track your FAFSA status at studentaid.gov. Make corrections if needed to prevent delays. ETSU’s school code is 003487. FAFSA information also determines eligibility for other types of aid, so submit it every year as soon as possible.
  • State: In addition to a reduced in-state tuition rate, you also have access to the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) Student Portal. Log in there to view your state program eligibility.
  • GoldLink is your one-stop shop for all enrollment steps. Click on the “Financial Aid” tab, select “Aid Year 2025-2026,” then click “Go” to view any pending requirements.
  • Verification – The Department of Education randomly selects some students for verification. If selected, you will submit a few additional forms to prove the information on your FAFSA is correct. For those selected, it’s a mandatory step before your aid can be disbursed.
  • Confirmation – All students must complete this step! Click the “Confirm Registration” task bar (fourth link down) on the “Student” tab in GoldLink and then select the correct aid year.

No matter where you are in your college journey, your assigned financial aid counselor is here to assist you through the process. Connect with them by scheduling an appointment. You can also call our office at (423) 439-4300 or send us an email at finaid@etsu.edu.

Pay Your Bill

After securing your aid, you’re finally ready to choose a payment option. You may choose to pay your bill in full or sign up for a payment plan.

  • Pay in Full – On the “Student” tab in GoldLink, click “Account” and then the “Make a Payment” button.
  • Payment Plans – Five-payment and four-payment options are available. For the five-payment plan, the first payment must be made before 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1.
  • The Bursar’s Office can answer your questions about tuition and fees, direct deposit, refunds or payment issues.
  • Remember: ETSU staff are here to help you succeed! Never hesitate to reach out for help navigating the enrollment process.
