Completing your time as an ETSU student ends one chapter and starts another. The moment you earn that degree, you are an ETSU alum. As someone who completed their degree online, you may be wondering, what does it mean to be part of ETSU’s Alumni Association? How can it help me? Or even, how can I get involved?
What is the ETSU Alumni Association?
The Alumni Association is made up of all former ETSU graduates (online or otherwise)! Dating back to ETSU’s founding in 1911, the Alumni Association includes more than 110,000 living graduates! The Alumni Association’s team works with ETSU Alumni Clubs, coordinates events, and keeps you connected to ETSU for years to come.
How can the Alumni Association help me?
Participating in Alumni Association activities and events can help you connect with fellow alumni, provide opportunities for networking, and offers access to multiple university resources, including:
- Career Services. Here you can find resume tips, interview strategies, and career development.
- Alumni Spotlight. Want to highlight the online experience or celebrate a new job or accomplishment? You can nominate yourself or someone you know to be featured. Submit the Spotlight form and then email the form and a photo to alumni@etsu.edu.
- Center for Physical Activity. As an alum, you can purchase a CPA membership for a per semester fee. Alumni Association members can also buy spouse, domestic partner, and dependent memberships.
How can I get involved with the Alumni Association?
There are many ways to get involved! Look for the Alumni Association at athletic events, homecoming, reunions, golf tournament fundraisers, and more!
Each summer, you can enjoy local gatherings hosted by the ETSU Alumni Association during the Alumni Summer Series. You can register online to receive a ticket discount code and be eligible for a free t-shirt! This summer, the following events are happening:
- ETSU Night with the Johnson City Doughboys
- Alumni Happy Hour at Tennessee Hills Distillery, Bristol
- Bucs Discover at Gray Fossil Site
Completed your degree online or not local? No problem. For those who live further from ETSU, there are Alumni Clubs in various cities. These clubs often sponsor events for local alumni to gather. Contact the Alumni Association to learn more: alumni@etsu.edu or 423-439-4218. There are several events planned for the summer in other areas:
