East Tennessee State University students and the community can look forward to a high-energy night next month when Neon Trees headlines the 2025 Student Government Association (SGA) Fall Concert with special guest Lisa Heller.
The concert is on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Freedom Hall Civic Center.
An unforgettable show
Known for infectious hits like “Animal” and “Everybody Talks,” Neon Trees has spent more than a decade delivering anthemic pop-rock to audiences across the globe. With five studio albums, a billion streams and festival appearances ranging from Coachella to Bonnaroo, the band continues to evolve while staying true to its mission: creating a community where fans can celebrate, connect and be themselves.
Frontman Tyler Glenn says their newest work is the most honest yet. “As a band, we’ve always done what we wanted to do and made the type of music we wanted to make,” he said. “There’s a vein of honesty we’ve always evoked, but this album is as real and as honest as possible.”
A rising star on the stage
Opening the night will be Lisa Heller, whose alt-pop sound has resonated with millions of listeners. Heller’s lyrics tackle anxiety, identity and self-worth with raw honesty, earning her a fast-growing fan base and a reputation for powerful live shows. She will also return to ETSU the day after the concert to lead a private Mental Health Awareness Workshop, part of her Is Anyone Listening? initiative.
With her latest releases, including the acclaimed EP “HELLO, MY NAME IS,” Heller is building not just a music career, but a movement centered on connection and self-expression.
