From "Riverdance” and Broadway to Festival of Ideas speakers, ETSU’s February calendar features world-class arts, music, film and lectures.

Your February social calendar just got a lot more interesting.

East Tennessee State University is bringing world-class performances, big ideas from award-winning thinkers, and cultural celebrations that span from bluegrass to Broadway – all right here on campus and in the community.

Just a few activities planned in February include:

• A talk on “Ritual Remembrance: Folklore and Visionary Ideals” by Reece Museum Director Rebecca Proffitt on Wednesday, Feb. 4;

“Club Cupid,” a concert featuring the contemporary sounds of ETSU’s Greyscale ensemble, on Friday, Feb. 6;

• A performance by Cantus, one of the nation’s premier male vocal ensembles, on Saturday, Feb. 7;

• Two special anniversary film screenings – “Banjo Romantika: American Bluegrass and the Czech Imagination” on Sunday, Feb. 8, and “Labyrinth” on Friday, Feb. 13;

• Two world-class dance performances: “Riverdance 30: The New Generation” in the Martin Center for the Arts’ Spring 2026 Broadway Series on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 17-18, and “Swan Lake” by International Ballet Stars on Sunday, Feb. 22;

• Music and conversation reflecting on mental health, creativity and the human experience by ETSU alumna and award-winning bluegrass star Becky Buller in “An Evening of Health, Wellness, and the Arts,” part of the Leading Voices in Public Health Lecture Series, on Thursday, Feb. 19;

• ETSU’s annual Festival of Ideas keynote addresses by Vijay Gupta (Tuesday, Feb. 24) and John Green (Thursday, Feb. 26); and

“TINA: The Tina Turner Musical” in the Martin Center for the Arts’ Spring 2026 Broadway Series on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 28-March 1.
