From high-energy esports showdowns and Oscar-nominated films to a jazz performance, pop culture celebration and family-friendly stage shows, March at East Tennessee State University is packed with events for every interest.

Whether you’re cheering at the Tri-Cities Slam, exploring Girl Scout history at the Reece Museum or enjoying live entertainment at the Martin Center, something is happening across campus all month long.

Just a sampling of the activities planned at ETSU in March includes:

“Wedged: Formed Earth,” a ceramics exhibit, runs from March 4-April 2 at the Tipton-Ashe Gallery, with a reception on Friday, March 6;

“Passage,” a contemporary theatrical exploration of power and perception directed by Steve Maurice Jones, ETSU’s 2026 Wayne G. Basler Chair of Excellence and Broadway actor and director, running Thursday-Sunday, March 5-8;

• Gaming enthusiasts can watch Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate teams from across the U.S. and Canada in the Tri-Cities Slam from Friday-Sunday, March 6-8;

• The Bud Frank Cinema will host two evenings of 2026 Oscar-Nominated Short Films, with live action films on Friday, March 6, and animated films on Saturday, March 7, along with a Silent Film with Live Musical Accompaniment on Sunday, March 8;

• Pop culture fans are invited to the two-day ETSU-Con on Saturday-Sunday, March 7-8, with gaming tournaments, cosplay contests, panel discussions, a vendor hall, food trucks and more;

• The ETSU Jazz Festival is Saturday, March 7, with a day of student performances and an evening concert featuring the ETSU Jazz Combos and Jazz Ensemble with guest artists;

• A Community History Harvest documenting “Girl Scouts in the Appalachian Region” will be held at the Reece Museum on Saturday, March 7;  

• A Planetarium Show explaining “The Origin of Time” will be held on Thursday, March 19;

• In “Move.Through.Light” on Thursday, March 26, performers Kimathi Moore and CillaVee will lead audiences on a journey of sound, movement, music and dance through the Reece Museum’s gallery spaces; and

• The Martin Center for the Arts will host several events, including “Dirty Dancing in Concert” on Sunday, March 29, and the Be Like Blippi Tour on Tuesday, March 31.
